Police checking veracity of reports about attack on Shakeel Bakhshi | KNO

Srinagar, July 31 (KNO) : Amid reports about the attack on separatist leader Shakeel Bakshi outside his home, Police on Monday said that it is checking the veracity of reports. “We are checking the authenticity of the reports,” a senior police officer told KNO, adding that Police team is at the spot collecting possible evidences. Pertinently, senior separatist leader Shakeel Bakshi earlier claimed to have escaped an assassination attempt on his life when unknown gunmen fired at him outside his home in Bemina area of Srinagar. The news of the attempt on his life was first revealed by Shakeel’s brother Showkat Bakshi, who is a JKLF leader, on Facebook. “Shakeel Bakshi escaped unhurt as assailant fired on him in home,” Showkat wrote. As per family sources, Shakeel was fired outside his home. He has also received minor injury during the incident.(KNO)
